Dave B. Drove 4 Hours to Pick Up His Suzuki TC185

Dave and I had been conversing for some time about my available bikes. On a beautiful Saturday morning, Dave(on right) and his nephew Don drove up from Weirton West Virginia to look at my bikes. Both guys are engineers who can evaluate and appreciate great machinery. Don also is an experienced Enduro and Hare Scrambles rider, so Uncle Dave brought him along to give the bike a good mechanical once over. They were not disapointed, and the bike is now back in Dave's garage! Enjoy guys!

Bobby R. Drove 8 Hours From North Carolina To Pick up His Yamaha

Bobby owns 7 other motorcycles including some current state of the art off road bikes, that he currently pounds the trails on. However, he just had to have the Yamaha CT 175 because it was just like one he had as a kid! As a quality control professional, he knows the value of an original condition Japanese enduro. He won't be tackling high mountain passes on this one, but he sure will be having fun tooling down to the Dairy Queen on a bike that will grab more attention than 10 Harleys. Enjoy Bob!

One is Finally Going to Ohio

Eric is a fellow VJMC Member who lives in the Columbus Ohio area. We met at a recent Columbus show. He was on his way there when his Honda CA 95 finally gave up the ghost! As Eric is an avid Moto Giro rider in Vermont he had really put that poor little bike through motorcycle hell over the years. This CD 175 bike will be perfect for the Giro for him. It is a larger frame and has more displacement which should really help for those hills Out there! Lookout Vermont!

Why are most of my bikes going to California?

Shown to the left is Todd. He is a decisive guy, he knows what he wants when he sees it. He had been watching my site for months, and we had exchanged emails about bikes he was considering purchasing.
When I got a very rare Candy Blue/Green CB 175 in-- during the dead of winter, even before I could guarantee its running condition, he said, "I'll take it!" Thank goodness the weather cleared, and I got it running before the shipper arrived. I have a guy that routinely hauls large numbers of bikes from Ohio to Los Angeles, so this 175 and another gold one were off to the Los Angeles area.
Enjoy Todd!.

Sylvia and I started a dialog long before Christmas about my CB 360

I certainly don't mind taking the time for my customers to feel comfortable doing business long distance with me. She wanted to know about payment options, shipping, and title process. Emails, personal phone calls, references are all available to my potential customers.
Sylvia currently rides a Harley but wanted something classic, smaller, and more efficient for her daughter Carissa who is in college. I used a carrier that ships from Ohio to California about twice a month. Here it is delivered to Sunny California.
Carissa and Sylvia, enjoy!

Donna Drove From St. Louis to Pick Up a Memory from the Past

Donna had a CB 175 when she was younger and said she had always regretted selling it. She recently picked up the motorcycle of her dreams. It was way too cold and snowy to get a picture of the bike outstide. We loaded her bike up in a snowstorm. She trucked her way back home all by herself in some pretty lousy weather. See her note below. Happy to help, Donna!

Hi David ,
We (the bike and me) got home safe and sound. I am now in the process of cleaning thoroughly the parts th at I can get to. The headlight assembly was a bit of a bear, but it is back together and very clean! I am looking forward to restoring it as best I can without putting a small fortune into it. I've already inquired about getting it painted- I'm so excited!
Thanks for sending the pictures. I really like the one of you in front of your bikes, I'm going to hang it up. It is so cold here, I will get some pictures to you when I can get outside to have them taken. Thanks again and good luck in your vintage motorcycle business.

Frank Drove Over 400 Miles in the Driving Snow

to pick up his very special Kawasaki AR 80. Not to mention the fact that he had to jump through hoops at Canadian Customs to take his beauty home. Frank is an engineer by trade and he knows rare quality when he sees it. Enjoy Frank!

Ingy Wants To Take His Back to Iceland!

Attached is a picture of a native of Iceland, Ingy L. who is currently in Miami Florida studying film making. We had started a dialog some time ago about buying a bike. We were able to come up with the perfect combination for his needs, and I shipped him a beautiful little CB 100 last week. When it arrived, he couldn't wait for daylight to send me a picture. Maybe he will send us an oceanside shot with some Palm trees soon! Thanks Ingy and enjoy.

Kennen made a very long trip

You really ought to get to know Kennen. What a neat young guy with a wide variety of technical knowledge. He spends 11 months a year as a crew member of a 150 foot luxury yacht that cruises all over the world. However, his real desire for the last few months had been over my bikes that he had seen on the internet. He took part of his vacation this week and drove over and picked up this nearly new Yamaha SR 250. Enjoy your vacation!

Brian Had Been waiting over 25 years for His! See his email below

David,
FYI...I had this exact bike when I was in 7th & 8th grade in Denver, Co. (and now I am almost 40) I use to pull kids around our neighborhood after it snowed on sleds. It was a great time in my life and I think back on those days often. And now, every time I pull into my garage and see this bike sitting in the corner, I smile...Thanks again for all of your help!

Bob Is The Advertising Director for the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club

David; Here's a photo of the Yamaha Newport 50 I bought from you last month. She was 'as you described her' and came in the nick of time as gasoline just hit $4.60 a gallon here in California. The Yamaha owners manual claims 210 MPG and with only 2300 miles on her she's got many good days left and will save me a lot of gas $$$! I use it for short errands and going to my shop garage several miles away from home. What's the old saying' they're only original once!' Thanks again for your efforts in co-ordinating the shipment and recommending uship.com to save us even more $$$. Regards, Bob Billa

Tim F is from the San Francisco area

I can't remember which of the two I spoke with first. It was a rare coincidence to find that Tim and Paul, shown below were located less than 15 miles apart in the San Francisco area. They each had contacted me independently within a few days of each other about different motorcycles I had. As a matter of fact when one called, so quickly after another, I said, "Didn't I just speak with you a few minutes ago about... Here is Tim with his Honda CB 450. I shipped this bike and the bike below with the same carrier.

Paul R. is from the San Francisco area too!

When I first started speaking with Paul, he was mostly concerned with how to get the bike all the way to California safely. I work with many shippers. In this case Paul and a friend Tim ended up contracting with a company to ship two bikes. They got a good price and received their bikes safely and quickly. Here he is on his "new" CB 400F. Soon he will be riding the world's crookest street located in San Francisco. Have fun Paul.

Clint S. drove all the way from St. Louis to pick up his CB 350.

Clint recently finished his tour of duty in the US Army. Thanks for your service to our country Clint! He is just getting back into motorcycling. His friend's Dad had a CB 350 years ago, and Clint felt this would be a great nostalgic way to get started.

Monica has wanted a classic Japanese motorcycle for a long time.

As Computer Animation Expert, she really appreciated the styling and panache that a bike of this era provides. However, she didn't know much about them and had to buy one from someone she felt comfortable with and could trust. Even though she was several hundred miles away, she came to look. Here she is headed home with her super cool 1973 Honda CB 175.

Glyn, who is from the UK, bought both a Yamaha 200 and a Super 90. I had them shipped to him in California. See his note below

Hey David,
John & I connected and the machines are here - and I Love 'em. They will be ridden a little, then a rebuild to paint & tidy a few things up. I just had to start the Yam to get that 2 stoke clatter again - the engine really is in good shape for the age - even at the low miles, I thought I would have to do the seals before anything - but its tight. . The Honda I'm going to fettle a little before starting - its a jewel and a demonstration of excellent engineering on a small machine.

Bill and son William III from Cincinnati picking up their prize.

Bill said that "everyone" had a little Honda in his neighborhood when he was growing up in the 1960's. Bill, a drag racing champion has very fond memories of hill climbs in Oregonia. His love of small Hondas must have gone through the DNA as he said that William III absolutely would not settle for anything other than this little Honda classic. Happy riding!
Hi David,
Billy has parked the bike till the weather is nice again, but he did take it to the hill climb in Orgonia to show it off. (They loaded it in the back of the truck) I think they are looking for a tail pipe and other things but it’s nice to see them have a project to do together. Thank you for the happiness you brought to my son! He truly loves the bike.
Debbie

Barry L. drove all the way from Toronto Canada to pick up this beauty.

He is a collector of some very exotic and rare bikes including the Honda GB 500 and a very limited production Honda RC 30. Now he has added a collectors grade CB 160 to his stable. I can also tell you that I have never seen someone so precise in his packing. He bubble wrapped the bike BEFORE he put the tarp on! Happy Riding Barry.

David,
Thanks for the pics and your hospitality yesterday. I was happy to find the bike as described and appreciate your offer to help with the loading, the the care you took to update the title documentation and that I came with all the loose bits: tool kit, owners manual and NEW!! battery. Great stuff. The trip home and border crossing went well and I was home by 10:00 am. The unloading went a lot quicker than loading at your end and the bike is resting along with the rest of the fleet.
thanks again,
Barry

Pat had been looking for a AC 50 Suzuki for over 27 years. It was his first bike. Here is a copy of an email I received from him recently:

David:
A couple of years ago, I bought a non-running 1970 Suzuki AC50 from you. It spent entirely too much time collecting dust in three different garages while I fooled with it on rare occasions. Finally, in the last couple of weeks, I made the final push, and yesterday morning, I got it running for the first time. It really brought back memories from the first time I owned an AC50, 36 years ago. Thanks for rescuing this bike and saving it for me. Here is a link to some pictures from 36 years ago, and from your driveway when I picked it up.

Here is Pat riding his Suzuki at the "True Grits" 50cc ride in Georgia.

Chuck N. had bought his son a brand new Honda MR 50 in 1974.

He told me that it made for wonderful family entertainment and a very successful racing career. He saw my MR 50 on the web page and contacted me. Chuck wanted it but was concerned how to get it to Clearwater, Florida. I connected him with some shipping options and he selected a www.uship.com carrier. It was picked up on a Wednesday and here you see Chuck sitting on it the very next day!
He and his son are going to restore it to its original condition as a family project. Another success story. Enjoy Chuck!

Jim P. had almost given up ever finding a Honda CL like the one he grew up on.

He had always lamented selling it when he bought a car. He came all the way from central Minnesota to pick this one up. I asked him for a sitting picture. Hopefully he will be able to compare it to an old picture with a similar pose taken at age 14.

Phillip and Diane of the Biloxi, Mississippi area, drove north and picked up TWO bikes--

A Honda CL 175 and a Yamaha RD 200. Phillip is a long time enthusiast who has owned a number of classic bikes over the years, and knows a great buy when he sees one. We had started an email dialog some time ago as Phillip has a management position on an off shore drilling rig far into the Gulf of Mexico and works a two week shift. They are great people who made a mini adventure of driving far into Yankee country to pick up the bikes of their dreams. Phillip and Diane have a safe trip back, and stay on the high ground!
