My friend Dave D. and I have been riding off road for over three decades. This goes back to when you could buy a house in Telluride Colorado for less than $30,000! The early bikes were Bultacos. They had great power at sea level but really had problems at 12,000 feet even if you re-jetted them severely. We started riding 4 strokes soon after. I rode small 185 and 200 Honda XR's to the top of every off road pass in the south and western part of Colorado. It was never fast to the top, but they always made it. I must have been a lot tougher back then, because those bikes sure did not have much in the way of suspension compared to the bikes today. I wish we had taken more pictures.
